Kamol Sarikanon was born in 1960 in Mae Hong Son in Northern Thailand. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from Technology Ratchamongkol University, majoring in Paintings. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Cultural Art at the Mae Faluang University.
Like many of his fellow artists in Chiangrai, Kamol’s focus of paintings is on nature scenes and cultural elements closely linked to Buddhism. He particularly likes to paint flowers in their natural setting, such as the culturally important Lotus flower in still water. He usually applies soft, pastel colors, giving his paintings a touch of peacefulness and calmness, thus emphasizing the underlying theme of his artwork.
Kamol’s lives and works in Chiang Rai, where is also an art teacher at a local university. His artwork is mostly exhibited in his home where he always welcomes visitors to stop by and talk about his artwork. His pictures are available online at http://kamol.goldentriangleart.com/
