
Born in 1982 in Songkla, Southern Thailand, Narongyot Tongyoo graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Painting from Rajamangala University of Technology in Chiang Mai.
Narongyot has early on come up with a unique concept in his artwork. His paintings are about the natural course of life, in which impermanence is truth. Everything in nature comes into existence, lives and decays. This reality is portrayed through the decaying lotus flower, which is the central theme in Natongyot’s works. He sees beauty in those decaying lotus leaves, which silently move and gradually change, reflected upon the quiet surface of the water. Narongyot has originally drawn the inspiration for his artwork from natural photography whose focus was not the short-lived beauty of blooming flowers but rather the more permanent decaying forms thereof.
