Welcome to Golden Triangle Art!

Golden Triangle Art is a site dedicated to the promotion of young artists living and working in the countries making up the Golden Triangle in Southeast Asia. Golden Triangle refers to a particular location on the Mekong river, which borders three countries – Thailand, Myanmar (formerly Burma) and Laos. There are plenty of skilled young artists living and working in these countries who create exceptional paintings, sculptures or other forms of art. However, with the exception of a few established creators, they all face one challenge: promotion of themselves and their artworks to international art buyers. This is where we come in: we provide a platform for those artists to display their artworks to an international audience which would otherwise not easily be possible for them.

Our purpose and goals

The goal of Golden Triangle Art is to lower the hurdles of self-promotion often faced by artists living in the Goldentriangle region by providing an online space for them to meet and connect with people interested in art.

What we do

We provide a platform to introduce artists and their artwork, both paintings and sculptures, along with contact details and- where available - the art galleries where their artworks are exhibited.

Besides, we provide NEWS about artists, as well as recommend ongoing exhibitions and other art-related events.

Being based in Chiangmai, our starting point has naturally been this city. Going forward, though, we will increasingly reach out to artists living and working in the district of Chiang Rai in Northern Thailand, and in the near future to Luang Prabang in Laos. This site is meant to be an ever-evolving project in blog-form, where new posts and pages are constantly added about local artists, their work, galleries, and other art-related events.
